COVID-19 Policies

Will I need to be fully vaccinated to participate?

Following the direction of the Provincial Government, Athletics Canada, Athletics Ontario and the City of Brampton proof of vaccination is not required to participate in any way at the Brampton Half Marathon.

All Provincial mandates must still be followed where applicable.

Pre-Race / Registration

If the race is cancelled, what are my options?

If any of the Brampton Half Marathon events are cancelled due to COVID-19, we will notify all participants of their registration options, including being moved into a virtual event. We continue to plan for an in-person event and are optimistic that current trends and provincial plans will allow us to do so.

How do I change my event?

In order to change your event, you will need to transfer sub-events. To transfer sub-events follow these steps:
1. Sign in to your Race Roster Account.
2. Click ‘view registration’ for the event and then ‘transfer’.
3. Click ‘Transfer to a new sub-event’.
4. Choose a new sub-event and then ‘Start Transfer’.
5. Fill in the information for new registration.

When upgrading, you will receive your previous registration payment as a credit to use for the new registration fee. A $2 transfer fee will be applied.
When downgrading, you do not receive a refund for the difference in registration fees. A $2 transfer fee will be applied. The deadline to change your event is June 1, 2022. If you have any trouble, please contact us at info@bramptonhalfmarathon.com

How do I transfer my entry to another participant?

To transfer your entry to a new participant, complete the following steps:
1. Sign in to your Race Roster Account.
2. Click ‘view registration’ for the event and click ‘transfer’.
3. Click ‘Transfer to new participant’.
4. Enter the email address of the transfer recipient.
5. The individual receiving the transfer will now get an email with further instructions to complete the transfer.

A $15 transfer fee will be applied to the recipient of the registration. Payment of the registration fee to the original participant is strictly a peer-to-peer transaction and cannot be done through Race Roster.

Can I register on race day?

Sorry. There is no race day registration for any of our events.

Can I get a refund on my registration?

For all 2022 entries (including deferrals), registration fees are non-refundable, and no deferrals to 2023 are offered.

Options:

You may transfer to another sub event IE half marathon to 10K
You may transfer to a friend
You may participate virtually
Please do NOT contact us with regards to a refund or deferral.

Contact info@bramptonhalfmarathon.com if you are choosing to run virtually.

If there is a medical reason that limits your participation, proof will be required.

Runner's Expo

What COVID-19 measures will be taking place in the Health & Wellness Expo?

  • All patrons entering the facility will be required to show proof of full vaccination at the door
  • Masks will be always required inside the Health & Wellness Expo
  • Social distancing measures, and capacity restrictions will be in place as mandated by the provincial government.

Can I pick up more than one race kit?

You may pick up for a friend(s) provided you have text, email or printed confirmation to do so.

Where do I pick up my race kit?

Race kits and bibs are available for pick up on Saturday, June 11, at the Runner’s Expo at Mount Pleasant Civic Centre.

Do participants in all events receive a shirt?

Yes. All participants will receive a uniquely designed soft blended lifestyle shirt great for running, working out or wearing casually. Shirt sizes are distributed on a first come first serve basis.

Race Day

How do I wear my Timing Chip?

Your timing chip will be attached to the back of your bib when you pick it up at race kit pick up. Do not remove the chip, or otherwise fold your bib, as this can cause it to malfunction. Bear in mind: no chip, no time.

Where is the start/finish for all races?

The Half Marathon will start and finish at Mount Pleasant Civic Centre. The 10K will start at Creditview Rd & Steeles Ave W. and finish at Mount Pleasant Civic Centre

The Mount Pleasant Civic Centre is located at 100 Commuter Drive, Brampton, ON, L7A 0G2.

Can spectators use the shuttles?

Yes. There is parking at the start/finish area. We encourage spectators to use the shuttles to get to and from the 10K start.

Is there baggage service?

Yes! We offer free baggage service to all participants at the start/finish area.

 

Can I pick up my race kit on race day?

There will be no race kit or bib pick-up available on race day.

Please make arrangements to pick up your race kit on Saturday or have a friend pick up your kit/bib. All they need is text, email or printed confirmation from you to do so.

On Course

Are there gels on course?

Honey Stinger Gels (Acai Pomm & Fruit Smoothie flavours) will be handed out on the Half Marathon course at the 17km mark. There are aid stations every 4km with water, Gatorade, port-o-potties, Vaseline, band aids etc.

Are the courses certified?

We are not certifying our courses with Athletics Canada this year. While the courses are not certified, our experienced staff have worked to ensure that all distances are accurately measured.

Are there pacers for the half marathon?

Yes, they are provided by the Running Room. Pacers will be confirmed closer to the event.

Is there a cut off time for the half marathon?

Road closures and course management are based on maximum pace of 10 minutes per kilometre. If this pace is not maintained you may be asked to move onto the sidewalk and obey the rules of a pedestrian.

Are there port-o-potties on course?

Yes. Port-o-potties will be located at the aid stations as well as at the start/finish area.

Are strollers allowed on course?

For the safety of everyone no strollers or baby joggers are permitted.

Finish

When are awards and prizing presented?

Presentations will held after each event.  All prizing must be picked up on the day of the event. There is no prizing in the walking events. There is no duplication of awards.

Do walkers get a timed result?

Yes. All participants receive a timed result.

Where do I park?

There is parking at the Mount Pleasant Go Station South lot. It’s only a short walk to the start and finish!

Which races receive medals?

All finishers in the Brampton Half Marathon and the 10K events will receive a medal.
